Final Project
Module #2 Project
After showing my mom my Prezi she questioned with “What is the purpose?” and “What made you choose these topics?”. I told her that we just wanted to show parents how teenagers feel about the early ages of life, that things aren't always as easy as it seems or we make it. The categories I selected were interesting towards myself, I really wanted to relate the prezi towards my point of view for a better understanding. My mother agreed with most of my topics on the prezi, but she did have a little confusion with topic number #10: “Knowing the child’s strengths and weaknesses”. She wondered “How can you tell if a child needs help? What if they don’t want help?”, I replied back saying that we might fail during some things, but that is apart of the developmental process. falling short of our expectations is what makes us as adolescents realize what we have difficulty with and learning off of that to be successful in the future. Furthermore, I felt more comfortable with discussing with my about things. I really believe that it gave me more space to work with myself, knowing that my mom understand the stage of being a teenager is challenging. I learned that you will have to learn from your mistakes as an adolescent. You will have goals that you will come up short of. Learning what is best for you at an early age can get you best prepared for adulthood.
Module #1 Project
The groups presentation was based on the “Stages of Cognitive Development” by Jean Piaget. Jean Piaget (1896-1980) studied the developmental process of children’s understanding through observing. During activities he would begin to interact with the child and see how the child reacts with what he was doing before. He would then determine if the child notices any differences from the beginning of the conversation and to the end. Piaget was the one who came up with the idea of the “Stage of Cognitive Development”. (The last stage was not presented due to a group member’s absence)
