Monday, April 27th, 2015: Brad was absent. We tried to look for ideas of social norms inside of school, but that was kind of difficult trying to find a fun and not obvious norm in the school. We need to look up more ideas for appropriate social norms for school. Our outside norm we plan on going trick or treating during the day, because that would be so weird to people.
Tuesday, April 28th, 2015: Brad agreed that we go trick or treating around the neighborhood in Halloween costumes. Now we just have to get the proposal typed and accepted to begin our experiment. Also are trying to discuss what we want to do for our in school broken social norm. We as of now decided that it would be amusing to give the teacher a homework assignment for them to do overnight. We actually ended up finishing both of our proposals and got them approved.
Wednesday, April 29th, 2015: J.J. was absent. Trying to figure out a possible way to record the unexpected participants is quite difficult. Other groups that already have tested ended up with no success with their testing so far. For our out of school norm we still are deciding the best day to do this and recording is kinda stopping us.
Thursday, April 30th, 2015: The group is all here today, for the second time this week. We are deciding if our broken in school social norm will work. We haven’t been able to come up with a logical and sneaky way to hide a camera without noticing. The boys and I are looking for an easier social norm that are more expected but not serious outcast. We will be experimenting the outside of school norm Monday or Tuesday of next week.
Monday, May 4th, 2015: Not very much help from Brad is kind of throwing things off track. The group is not focusing very much well together due to some interruptions from other students. The in school social norm is still hard to decide upon. Cameron and I are really the only people trying to figure what we should do with breaking the social norms and it is getting really frustrating. Everybody has an attitude and they are all just making this whole thing more difficult than what it needs to be. We are deciding to create a new social norm, by walking backwards down the hallways.
Tuesday, May 5th, 2015: Today was a more productive day. We have finally decided on what we are going to do with both of our inner and out of school breaking social norms experiments. They end up being the two that we planned on doing in the first place. Tomorrow we will be doing both testings, we had to delay the out of school norm because of the weather.
Wednesday, May 6th, 2015: We have not started our experiment, every time we plan on starting somebody ends up not showing up the next day. Cameron was absent today due to having surgery on one of his toes. We will have to do everything tomorrow, and put it all together. This will be difficult, but we will see how it goes.
Thursday, May 7th, 2015: Today we initiated the in school project, that actually had just been changed and created in a matter of 10 minutes. It actually went really well; getting positive feedback from the participants. One of us put our notebook and binder in an unknown persons locker, breaking that social norm. Secondly, we are going to Meijer to ask customers if they can help us grab stuff although we can grab it our self.
